Healthy Sugar Free Strawberry Syrup - Healthy Dessert
Instead of sweetening this syrup with high fructose corn syrup, bleached white sugar, artificial sweeteners or aspartame, I used all-natural stevia.
Instead of sodium benzoate (a preservative) I used… oh wait, this recipe doesn’t have any preservatives! WOOHOO!
Instead of artificial food dyes (that may be linked to hyperactivity, ADHD, tumors, cancer, etc etc etc) I used all-natural, plant-based food coloring.
Unlike regular syrups, this recipe doesn’t require any cooking (so you don’t need a candy thermometer). Just gather the ingredients, whisk it all together and refrigerate. Then it’s time to pour pour pour away!

Healthy Homemade Sugar-Free Strawberry Syrup (all natural!)
This Healthy Homemade Sugar-Free Strawberry Syrup contains no high fructose corn syrup, granulated sugar or artificial food coloring, just pure strawberry goodness. This low-calorie syrup is perfect in oatmeal, yogurt, ice cream, smoothies and more!
Ingredients
1+2/3 cups Water
1 tbs Strawberry Flavor
4 drops Lemon Flavor
Natural Red Food Coloring (I used 15 drops of India Tree's food coloring)
1 cup Stevia in the Raw or 1 tsp Stevia Extract
1/8 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Xanthan Gum
Instructions
In a sealable, cylindrical container (I used these food containers because they have tight-fitting lids) whisk together the water, strawberry flavor, lemon flavor and natural food coloring.
Whisk in the stevia and the salt.
Whisk the mixture vigorously while slowly "dashing" in the xanthan gum (don't dump it in, other wise it will clump up... just sprinkle it in while whisking).
Seal the container and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, give the container a big shake, then pour the syrup into pretty serving jars. Refrigerate to store.
Notes
This recipe is: fat free, sugar free, low carb, gluten free and vegan!
